Atheists from around the world came together to raise $20, 718 to aid victims of the Boston Bombing. We sent the money to One Fund which was founded for the victims of the bombing. The One Fund gives the money to the victims to help with everyday life, medical bills, and We waited for months for people to apply for the aid. We don’t know why no one applied, but we think it is because we are an atheist organization and we ask that we be able to blog about what we’ve done so people can see their money at work. Thank you so much to everyone who donated. Please keep following us and donating to our organization so we can help others in a more direct manner.
Thank you, Atheists Giving Aid, for providing a tangible way for me to help the Boston Marathon victims all the way from the West Coast. While others are calling for prayer, you are calling for real action which can be put to real use.
We all Know Prayers do not work 50 % of the time .Actions however work 100% of the time and the money goes to the victims not administration fees and salaries as the Religious charities do ….
Peace and get well wishes to all the victims,
Actually, by definition of the charity, I think that most people here know that prayer works 0% of the time. Good to know that there isn’t a bunch of crazy red tape with ‘handling and admin fees’ though. Positive vibes
you’re both right. Prayer works 50% of the time (because that’s assuming it’s a 50/50 chance of the thing happening or not on it’s own) and it works 0% of the time because even if whatever you were praying to worked, it was never BECAUSE of said prayer.
0%… What don’t people understand about that.. Unless you want to look up the probability of luck, which is less than 1%
Absolutely. Very happy to see something like this, instead of being ousted as the “non-believer” when I’ve had my share of donating to various causes.
Thank you for being there to take action for those of us who can’t get there to roll up our sleeves and help. Weareatheist.com is wonderful to have when we need to make a differents.
I tried using your online donation form, which requires my home phone number, which I DO NOT and WILL NOT give out to just anyone unless I know someone personally. Since it will not alow me donate unless I give my phone number, I want to mail a check. Do you have a mailing address that I can do so?
WOW. I will make sure that will be taken off of the form or figure out how to make that not required to donate to us OR use another method for collecting payment. Please email us for our address. Where we are located in the country we would like to keep private at this time due to our threat level at this time.
Meanwhile Amazon is offering this: “Answers with Ken Ham – 12 DVD” on this page!
Finally, some sensical cause without the bs. Glad to see things like this to let us help out!!
Hello, im a high school student somewhere in the bible belt. I saw this and thought it would be a cool idea to collect donations at my school and donate it all through your organization. What do you guys think of the idea?
That would be an amazing thing to do. We would appreciate it. Let me know if you need any help setting it up. You are amazing!
I would like to use the atheist giving aid logo so everyone knows who the money is going through. I want everyone to know that atheist are the ones helping. Maybe i can change some peoples points of view in the process
Go right ahead. No worries. Thank you for asking first – President and Founder
Thanks Tyler Your efforts are a great help!!
Hope this can help.
Sorry it can’t be more but I’m unemployed at the moment. I wish we had something like this in the UK. Keep up the good work.
Donated. Thank you for doing this.
Thank you for providing a non-religious way to give aid to those in need. Prayer doesn’t work, it only makes the one praying feel better. Votes work. Votes change things. Vote to change the culture of violence in our country, vote to provide more mental health services.
Every bit helps guys no gift is too small or too large.
Glad to see there is a way to help the victims with their expenses. Don’t trust organized religions or Red Cross, etc. Will not give out phone number, however.
Chinese dry-cured hams have been recorded in texts since before the Song dynasty and used in myriad dishes. Several types exist in Qing dynasty cuisine and are used in dishes of stewing hams.
I really took some brand-new help and advice from this.
It’s awesome that you took the time to do this. I have to admit, I most likely spent about 3 hours on your blog. Absolutely worth the time, however.
You are so welcome and thank you for the compliment.
