My story: When I first came to SIUC, I noticed there were no organizations in place that catered to non-religious students. I sought to change that and established a chapter of the Secular Student Alliance on campus. My goal was to create a place for like-minded individuals to share their ideas and to provide a community where secularists could escape the stigma and contempt society places on those who do not adhere to religious dogma and superstition. I was able to find a group of people who are just as passionate about being free from religion as I am so always remember that you are not alone.
