It warms my heart that not everyone grows up in a family that heavily imposes dogma on the young. Thanks to you I now know about Skepticon. While atheism is silent on a lot of things, it is beautiful for its freethought and tolerance. That is why efforts construct to better societies and their constituent individuals paint an otherwise reviled position in good light. For those of us living in intolerant societies, such efforts might be the only way to open the door to discourse and tolerance; heck, I suspect closet atheists, humanists and agnostics just might come out because of such.
